TCSPC Software – Comprehensive Control and Analysis for Single-Photon Counting

The TCSPC software suite provides a powerful, user-friendly interface for controlling and analyzing data from the SIMTURM single-photon counter. Designed for versatility and precision, it supports a wide range of time-correlated single-photon counting applications, from basic photon statistics to advanced coincidence and histogram analysis.

Key software features include:

  1. Multi-Channel Operation & Real-Time Monitoring
    Control up to 6 independent input channels with individual trigger threshold settings, delay compensation, and channel enable/disable functions. Monitor count rates in real time with live updates.

  2. Timestamp & Time-Difference Measurement (T2/T3 Modes)
    Record raw timestamps (T2) or time differences relative to a sync signal (T3) with high precision. Data can be output via USB 3.0 or 10 Gigabit optical ports for flexible integration.

  3. Real-Time Histogram Display & Analysis
    Visualize time-difference distributions in real time with customizable bin size, count, and range. Supports both accumulate and refresh modes for dynamic or cumulative statistics.

  4. Photon Counting Statistics
    Perform photon intensity measurements in two modes: Time Window mode (fixed intervals) or Sync Signal mode (between sync pulses). Results are plotted in real time and can be saved for post-analysis.

  5. Advanced Coincidence Counting
    Define custom coincidence strategies with multiple channels and adjustable time windows. The software supports virtually unlimited strategies, limited only by host CPU capability.

  6. DLL/SDK for Custom Integration
    Includes a comprehensive dynamic link library (DLL) with header files for developing custom applications in C++, Python, LabVIEW, and other languages. Enables automation, real-time data acquisition, and tailored measurement workflows.

  7. Hardware Synchronization & Scanning Support
    Supports pixel, line, and frame sync signals for scanning applications such as LiDAR and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM). Provides examples for histogram and photon count scanning with spatial tagging.

  8. Flexible Data Export & Script-Based Analysis
    Save measurement data in binary format for efficient storage. Includes MATLAB parsing scripts for timestamp, time-difference, histogram, and intensity data, enabling seamless post-processing and integration into existing workflows.
