An essential component of the delay line that returns the laser beam parallel and independently of the precise perpendicularity of the incident angle is the hollow retroreflector (also known as a hollow cone or backward reflector).

Insensitive to vibration, position, and movement, hollow cone mirrors are strong, monolithic structures constructed of solid aluminum that is perfect for use in laser tracking systems, FTIR spectrometers, and Michelson-type interferometers.

Glass glued hollow retroreflectors and metal one-piece hollow retroreflectors are the two main varieties.

•       The ability to integrate mounting features and datums into the retroreflector for easy alignment, 

         providing additional design and cost-effectiveness

•       Return beam with accuracy down to 2 arc seconds

•       Operating temperature: -40 to 60 °C

•       Coating: Gold, silver, aluminum coating (bare metal or with a protective coating)
