The SIMFWM2 series is a high-precision Motorized Filter Wheel solution designed for applications requiring exceptional accuracy. It seamlessly adapts to a wide range of automated optical applications, including fluorescence microscopy, precision spectroscopy, and color CCD imaging. The device is compact and can be securely mounted on any standard optical platform.Denpending on the model ,6/8/10 filters can be installed.

The SIMFWM2 series is compatible with 30 mm cage systems, meeting complex experimental and testing requirements. Powered by a 24V DC external supply, the system ensures stable and reliable operation. Easy to install, it integrates seamlessly into optical setups, allowing instant filter switching via a manual knob or software. It achieves a rapid switching speed of <200 ms between adjacent filters and a positioning accuracy of 1° for repeatable results. The built-in compact controller reduces cabling and improves maintenance.

The SIM-FWM2, SIM-MCFW, and SIM-MMFW series were designed with the concept of interchangeable components across the product line. This allows users to easily upgrade, for example, from a SIM-MMFW-S to a SIM-MMFW-D, a SIM-MCFW, or even a SIM-FWM2.

Features

• Ease of Use:  Simscop's manual cage-mounted filter wheel features a grooved edge on the rotating wheel for smooth and effortless filter selection. The integrated cover plate serves a dual purpose: enabling filter switching and providing direct access for filter replacement without the need for screws.
• Compatibility:  Equipped with SM1 internal threading, the filter wheel accepts Ø25.4 mm filters (max. thickness: 5 mm; 6.35 mm for 8/10-slot versions). Compatible with 30 mm cage systems and M6 posts.
• Stability & Durability: Engineered for long-term reliability, Simscop’s manual filter wheel maintains precise positioning and repeatable performance even after tens of thousands of cycles.
• Easy Installation and Maintenance:  Designed for minimal downtime, the filter wheel allows quick installation and requires no complex adjustments or special tools, simplifying both setup and daily operation.

Application

• Fluorescence Microscopy Imaging: In biomedical research, the Motorized Filter Wheel can rapidly switch between different excitation and emission filters to optimize the capture of fluorescence signals. This is particularly useful for high-throughput analysis of multi-color fluorescence-labeled samples.
• Spectral Analysis Systems: When combined with a spectrometer, the Motorized Filter Wheel can automatically change between different bandpass filters, enabling continuous spectral scanning or specific wavelength intensity measurements. This application is widely used in materials science, environmental monitoring, and chemical quality control.
• Machine Vision and Color Recognition: In industrial automation, the Motorized Filter Wheel, when paired with CCD or CMOS cameras, optimizes image quality by switching between filters to eliminate ambient light interference. This enhances the accuracy of object color recognition and classification.
• Laser System Tuning: In laser technology and optical communications, the Motorized Filter Wheel is used to precisely adjust the wavelength of the laser beam. By changing between different laser line filters, it optimizes the laser output characteristics, making it suitable for material processing, sensing technologies, and scientific research.
