Neodymium doped Potassium-Gadolinium Tungstate (Nd:KGW) crystal are excellent laser gain mediums as they have low lasing threshold and high emission sections. They have high optical quality and high bulk resistance to laser radiation. Nd:KGW has much larger output compared to Nd:YAG and a very long crystal lifetime. 


It has Raman properties that allows it to produce high intensity Raman peaks and shift readings. The luminescence of Nd:KGW is also very broad and allows it to generate sub picosecond pulses. Applications of Nd:KGW includes diode-pump Q-switched for laser range fingers and Raman converters.
