YVO4 Glan Laser Polarizer

Glan Laser Polarizer is made from two equal birefringent prisms that are assembled using the air-spaced method for better damage threshold and temperature range. This type of polarizer is modified from the Glan Taylor type to reduce the reflection loss from the incoming beam. With two escape windows on its side, the reflected beam can exit the polarizer, allowing higher energy applications to function at its peak. The surface quality of the entrance and exit face is higher compared to side faces.


Nd:YVO4 is an efficient material used for laser crystals and diode lasers or solid-state lasers. Due to its high stability and high-power tolerance, it has a high damage threshold and optical properties. It can substitute Calcite crystals in many applications with its wide transparency range and birefringence properties.
