KTA(Potassium Titanyle Arsenate) is a nonlinear optical crystal that has similar features to KTP. It is mainly used for Optical Parametric Oscillation(OPO) application, which is the optical gain from parametric amplification in a nonlinear crystal. 


Its non-linear optical and electro-optical properties such as significantly reduced absorption in the 2.0-5.0µm region, broad angular and temperature bandwidth, low dielectric constants makes it more suited for this region as compared to KTP. In this region, it also has large temperature acceptance, and lower birefringence than KTP, leading to a smaller walk-off.
