KGW(Potassium Gadolinium Tungstate) is a non-linear crystal that has good mechanical properties, high damage threshold, good thermal conductivity and a wide transparency range that makes it very compatible for SRS(Surface Raman Scattering) processes for picosecond applications.
They have two Raman modes at 768cm-1 and 901cm-1, which is also pump polarization dependent. They can also be used as frequency converters in tunable lasers to extend tuning range.
