Yb:KYW(Ytterbium doped Potassium Itrium Tungstate) is another crystal used for diode or laser pumped solid state laser applications. It has very similar properties with Yb:KGW. The significant difference between the two would be that Yb:KYW allows for a higher ytterbium doping percentage and has higher lasing threshold.
