MIR Multi-Channel Widely Tunable External Cavity QCL-Glider

SIMTRUM introduces the MIR Multi-Channel Widely Tunable External Cavity QCL-Glider (3-13μm). Based on a external cavity design, the Glider is a monolithic all-in-one light source that requires no assembly or external drivers. The optical output is a single-beam of light whose wavelength can be selected within a range of up to ~2200 cm –1.

The Glider consists of single or multiple quantum cascade laser (QCL) gain chip, a grating-tuned extended optical cavity in Littrow configuration, driver electronics and control software. The system is delivered fully assembled in a closed housing and requires no alignment. The Glider is available in either a single module configuration or in a multi-module configuration. The multi-module configuration can accommodate up to 4 different modules for larger coverage. The system comes with a controller providing a Web based graphical user interface allowing access to all the functionalities of the system.

* Glider is driven by an integrated pulsed driver. The graphical user interface allows for automatic wavelength tuning. The kit is delivered pre-aligned and ready to use. Additional modules with different wavelength coverage and/or output power can be purchased from SIMTRUM; installation may require sending the unit back to SIMTRUM.


The following table lists the specific performance of the Broad Gain lasers shown in pulsed mode (except BG-3.2-3.6 which operates CW). Only the tuning range and minimum power over the tuning range are part of the specification; the typical tuning curve is shown as an example and each laser will have a different tuning curve. The average power will vary over the tuning range and will will exceed the minimum value at its optimal point by a large amount but this maximum value can vary from laser to laser.
